The city is preparing new pass regulations each business will be required to check for the appropriate pass before admitting you. Banks were notified in the past few days to be prepared to enforce the new regulations starting Monday May 11th. Details on who and how these passes will be distributed is still unclear. Previously towns north of Dumaguete were permitted to travel to Dumaguete Monday, Wednesday and Friday and towns south of Dumaguete Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Government offices and banks are now fully staffed but many at reduced hours. Keep your eyes open for announcements. shakey aka John
This is getting rdicoulos. Dumaguete has no Corana cases but keeps issuing these passes. Even hard hit Europe is easing all these restrictions. OK, Duterte promised to abolish the lockdown May 15. We will see. Gesendet von meinem SM-N950F mit Tapatalk
I agree. In light of the almost nonexistent number of cases here the solution should not be as draconian as Manila or Cebu with many more sick. I understand the need to be careful and applaud the quick actions that led to such a safe province but the restrictions, seemingly for the sake of restrictions, are a bit much.
These leaders look like a headless chicken running around. If you want to make just regulations, one must define a goal first. What are the objectives, i wonder? Do they want to control the virus untill there is a vaccine available? Well goodluck, that will be the first corona virus vaccine and the fastest developed working vaccine was created in 5 years. Or do they want to eradicate the virus, well with all asymptomatic... Goodluck again. Or is this a case of devide and conquer... Wel goodluck they did it.. What is the goal??
More than likely new cases of Covid-19 will increase soon after planes, boats and ferries begin carrying passengers here to our island. Anti-virals when they arrive they will soon be "out of stock" and if a Covid-19 vaccine that works is ever discovered, this is estimated to be years away. So IMHO, the ECQ quarantine we just completed, was just one of many future quarantines to come, until a vaccine arrives here on our beloved island. The problem is, Negros island is near the bottom of the food chain on planet earth. Politicians, the rich and famous, doctors, nurses, and all their family members and friends will stampede to the front of the line while stepping all over the average Joe. So if you are Joe Average living on 123 Nowhere Street... prepare for many future quarantines and a long long wait for your Covid-19 vaccination.
[QUOTE="So if you are Joe Average living on 123 Nowhere Street... prepare for many future quarantines and a long long wait for your Covid-19 vaccination.[/QUOTE] Would not be surprised if the 'Phill Average' and all his neighbors will get vaccinated first. Since this is a rush-job to developpe and many corners will be cut the chance is some vaccines will be still kind of experimental when first used. They will want to immunize bigger groups at their risk, and see what will really happen before the more fortunates will inject it. Happens a lot with experimental medicines and vaccines. Look wat happened to the dengue vaccinations. If large groups are already vaccinated the chance i will get it will shrink fast. So i will be happy to fall in line a little later.
Well, for someone who promised to kill all drug users or what was the plan to stop the drug criminals and stop all corruption in 3 months ... maybe this was one of his better plans? Aaaaaa wait... now i see the link. Corona, Quarentine... its to stop the drug trade! Brilliant... In Holland the Methodon addiction program is growing because it is more difficult to get the real heroine...
VERY likely - it is only total isolation that has kept some islands safe. Guimaras closed its border very quickly and, I read, has zero cases.
