A large portion of the stuff on Amazon drop ships from China anyway, if I really wanted it, I would pay duty. I have had good luck with small stuff on Amazon but it seems that when the value exceeds $200 it becomes worth American companies while to try and screw you, sending a used defective product instead of the new in unopened box item they advertised. I have a couple of Amazon horror stories that I won't bore you with, unless you really want to hear. I don't deal with e-bay anymore but I consider the average seller there more honest than Amazon sellers. Amazon themselves will fulfill an order without knowing what they are sending you, but at least with them they take it back no problem and promptly refund rather than the possibly 3 month process to get a refund from a 3rd party seller.
