We have just suffered another 10 hrs without power overnight due to this hopeless outfit's incompetence and inability to resolve an ages old right of way issue. They will find it hard to pass the buck on this one, being as they are the distributor yet incapable of doing just that. The only time they are efficient is when it comes to billing and imposing late payment penalties. In that regard they are world leaders. A sorry bunch that would go to the wall in a heartbeat were there any competition involved. Rant over.

I would say though, that if there is a time to have extended brownouts, it us now. Last night the temperature where we live was about 73F and it is 75F as a write this. The internet providers were still up and you can use your router if connected to a UPS available from lazada. Otherwise you can put your smartphone on person hotspot; globe was working all night. When it warms up during the day, there are floor-stand battery operated fans available at Hypermart (“Tough Mama Philippine brand) and if you use low speed those fans run longer than needed. If you have a generator, great but they make noise and burn a lot of gas and are really not needed now. So we hope they can resolve those 69Kv line problems in Pulangbato. BTW, I’m sure what is meant by right of way issues (you know more about that than me) but I would think it is an issue aggravated by this Amihan weather which is if a seasonable nature and quite a challenge to the electrical system. Anyway, we shall enjoy the cool weather here in Valencia for the next few weeks and hope they fix these problems before the hot weather sets in.

Yes, thankfully we are also in Valencia and the current weather has been a blessing. But I have lived in the Phils 16 years now and can honestly say that their overall service is by far the worst I have had the misfortune to experience lol! Patience is indeed a virtue!

As far as I know the problem is with NGCP (the power transmission people).
I would have hoped they would learn from their experience a few years ago. But here we are again.
On one hand this is very inconvenient but on the other hand. Good for the little guy poking Goliath in the eye with a pointy stick.

It shows a lack of understanding of the electrical grid to blame NORECO for every single brownout. Yeah, a lot of the brownouts are their fault but these major ones tend to be on NGCP. NGCP is not NORECO. I'm not upset, just pointing it out.

The intricacies of the grid have been adequately explained above. However, it is always someone else's fault in their eyes and the end user just has to grit his teeth and put up with it!

Looking at this thread I do not see too many people upset. Without becoming too pedantic, it seems most people from 1st world countries living here have learned to accept the inherent inconveniences of living in less than a 1st world electrical grid.
