Expect an increase in unannounced brownouts in the area for awhile.

Had two brownouts last night. Thought it was due to the weather.

Looks like the geothermal plant has been shut down on layte due to the quake. Luckily we are not on bohol as no power either or water. looks like it will be a while before it back up and running.

I remember how our electric bill in Dumaguete went up to subsidize repairs to the grid after Yolanda. I bet its going to go up again to subsidize repairs to the grid after the earthquake :arghh:

Where I'm from, we call them blackouts if they happen at night!

    That'd be just as wrong as Filipinos calling a black-out a "brown-out".

Black-outs are a complete loss of power.
Brown-outs is when there is low voltage.

The Philippines regularly has brown-outs (my lights dim and flicker all the time, many times just due to a slight breeze). Actual brown-outs are called "regular service" in the Philippines.

Yeah, my power just went off and a loud bang right after. Dogs in the neighborhood barking. Beautiful.

Had 4 "black-outs" in the last few days in northern duma...
Now, any FACTS about how long these will go on?? The electric companies CAN CONTROL this timeline...

Yesterday was 3 pm to 4 pm, almost exactly, AND 6 pm to 7 pm, again almost exactly. Somehow i expect the governor's residence barangay had LESS....
