Anyone know a competent antenna installer? Finally found a place to move to and need my internet antenna installed securely with maximum signal (correctly) in Valencia proper May 15th.

(now if I can only find a buyer for my now extra motorcycle)

No one has a contact that is or was an antenna installer worth recommending? I thought there would be at least 2 or 3 out there?

    Or maybe @Dutchjob
Need an antenna installer - climber - LTE Antenna

    and

I was pretty livid in this thread about installers. I ended up climbing the pole with the antenna and adjusting it later on. Google knows the username/passwords for whatever ISP/modem you have and the appropriate signal strengths. There are mobile apps that can help you locate the appropriate cell tower. (OpenSignal for Android is one of them.)

how high do you want to put the antenna? depending on the roof, i can show you how to put the antenna at 40 ft with no climbing.
in a nutshell, you put up a temporary 35ft bambú pole with a pulley at the top and 100ft of line running thru the pulley. then use the temporary pole to pull up your steel mast with the antenna mounted. takes at least 3 guys, 4 is better.

While I am not sure the height I need, I feel certain 40' would be more than enough. Currently I would guess it is maybe 20' and works fine. Only moving a few 100 meters so my only unkown (have not been up on the roof to see and can't tell from the ground) is if there are trees etc tall enough to obstruct line of sight.

edit: I have 30' of wire and of course the antenna, what would you guesstimate cost of such mast and installation to be?

hey rt, sorry for tardy reply, lots going on and the 24 hr power outage didn't help.

1st off, i'm not an antenna installer but i recently installed our antenna at 37ft using this method and i've done a fair amount of rigging; logging, stump farming, log building, raising walls and the like.

if you already have an antenna mast up, you can save yourself some work by tying the bambú pole to it, instead of having to guy the bambú pole.

i don't have any current prices on steel tube but here's prices from several years back.
    p584 - 20' GI tube thick 1- ¼ dia
    p388 - 20' GI tube thick 1'' dia

    2pcs - 20'ft pipe will get you a 35ft mast.

guy wire's not all that expensive.

i can go into more detail if you decide to do this, just PM me.

I don't understand all these problems. Perhaps in the mountains.. I just pay Filproducts 2600pisos a month and get excellent continuous internet and TV coverage forever (except when there's a power outage...) I just go along with what ever is the median in the country I live in. However, if it was MY country, I'd be on the phone, complaining, complaining...

What problems are you referring to? There are many places here with power but without cable access. Wireless internet is the solution and an antenna installed on a mast can improve reception tremendously. This thread is about installing my antenna at my new rental house which does not currently have a mast.

I have an appointment with an installer in the morning.

Easy to say, I also have Fil-Products but I had to wait more than two years for the cables to be installed along the highway, and living around 150meters from the highway Fil-Products at first refused to install for me, I think they took pity on me and installed with no promise of a reliable service, so living further away from the main Highway means that the only real option is for a Wireless/Mast setup. Either method is a hit and miss affair here and I know in Maluay a Wireless/Mast setup is next to useless so for many it is like being stuck between a rock and a hard place to gain internet access...

If you come across a guy with a Mexican sounding name (I am sure starts with a 'M') who apparently installs Mast Towers locally around Dumaguete/Negros give him a miss! I was given his contact details from another member on here and contacted him many many times, trying to call him then finally got onto him via txt and when he did eventually reply and say he would contact me back he never did. Total waste of time...
