I've checked before but product availability changes; is rigid foam insulation stocked anywhere? I'm talking about the extruded polystyrene (XPS), 2" thick. Only need a couple sheets.

Sorry for the late reply...unfortunately I have not had any success finding them. Odd as it is quite common in some places I've worked where you would not expect to find them.

Not a deal breaker for what I was looking for but hopefully in the future I can source them.

Not sure if you guys are using anything similar or if it is sold here, it is claimed it sells around the world, but Global Fibre8 Limited has a very bad track record with hate pages online telling it as it is from builders alike at just how crappy this product is (from New Zealand I believe.) I have several Facebook friends who are builders/plasterers and they run this product down big time. It looks to be a sheet made from Cement-fibre with chicken wire internally and over the past year or so have seen many pictures of it where it has fallen apart, cracked, even disintegrated when it gets wet. So keep Global Fibre8 products in mind when you do NOT want to buy something that sounds even worse than a local equivalent... Facebook even has it's very own dedicated Hate Page where people can post about their bad experiences... Just thought I would bring it to your attention in case it does rear its ugly head here.

My plan was to use the rigid insulation as a sacrificial material for cutting larger sheets of plywood since it offers good stability using a circular saw.

Future uses will be for small raft systems as part of an aquaponics system...which won't happen for a few years until I am truly retired.
