Passing lanes/pull over areas for slower vehicles from time to time can also work when there are lots of one-lane roads. Problem is getting the funding. But this is a cheaper alternative than building out a two-lane into a full, three or four-lane road system. My only concern with this Samsung idea is that it is enabling the Nation/State to put off/avoid their obligations of improving the safety of their public road systems - of which many public roads are considered to be a "public good" in the legal eyes of both the Nation/State and its citizens. If the camera system becomes faulty, or is in error, who becomes liable in an accident scene? V/R, nwlivewire
Good point. I could see a family suing Samsung if someone had a serious accident! Too many lawyers in the World IMPO! Maybe we should cull some (JK)
I'd think the Samsung "safety truck" would just revert back to a regular old "truck" if the camera stopped working and nobody would be liable. I did notice they said the camera and screen receiver were wireless.....hopefully security is a priority so that some a-hole can't push false images to the screen. I think that would be the only time where Samsung might become liable for an accident.
How about just continuously showing a loop of someone passing the truck with their car and having a head on with a garbage truck?
