Has anyone ever added an extension to their bike shift level to make it easier to shift, especially the toe end? I want to do that, too hard to make contact and my ankle injury will not facilitate a heal down solution. Thanks

word correction, heel, not heal. One of the problems is the heel lever is too close to the bike and I don't want to take a chance bending it. By extension I mean the arm that comes across that you press, not the lever.

Thanks Mark, will give that a shot.

I wonder how others with new bikes avoid the 2-6 month wait with no registration or plate?

Maybe keep the sales receipt with you and hang a sign saying "waiting for registration" on your rear fender.

Like so many locals we hung a "For Registration" sign on the back. Cardboard didn't stand up to the rain very well so we bought a plastic one. Looked much nicer on a new bike.

That should be an easy fix with a little steel and a welding machine

before I wrecked mine (sober in my own garden) the original plate got lost and I made a "For Registration" one on it. Advantage, they don't know what to write on a ticket for wrong parking anymore. Just keep walking when you come back to your bike and find a safe place to watch.

Just use a piece of cardboard with the "for registration" written on it.
And then take a picture of it with your cellphone camera.
If you get pulled over or stopped, and they complain, then just show them that picture.

    That should do it.
