    I used a US company called Shipnex, online to order service, set up pickup ,get a price quote and everything.. I did not pay online which they do offer.. I was scared to do that, so i called the number to the USA customer service and paid via faxed or emailed paper contract with my agreement and credit card info to be charged..
    They ended up sending DHL to pick up in Bacolod region and the boxes ended up on Philippines airlines to USA Los Angeles and then DHL to my home state.. Took four days and i shipped Two big boxes.. Both big enough to fit a 6foot many curled up in and maybe even his little filipino partner too.. They weight 150 pounds or more each.. I paid $1500 for the shipment to USA and that same shipment cost me $500 from USA to Philippines.. Oh one box came later than the four day time it took the other.. It got detoured or misrouted to Tahiti because i had old sticker from previous Hawaii shipment in the same box.. Probably non english speakers and poor readers running the shipment sorting.. I wish i could get misrouted and delayed in Tahiti some day...

    All I can say about that price is that there must be a million loving memories inside those boxes to spend so much to deliver. Cant think of one thing that probably you can not buy cheaper in the USA that you could fit and ship in two large bb boxes...jes'sayin'

    Come to think of it 250 a box to the Phillipines is the highest..oh wait..airmail...airmail..never mind

    Oh sorry, i shipped two very big boxes and one smaller that could have gone as check in luggage.. So three boxes with two of them being big and heavy... It was all stuff i brought from USA and it was stuff i couldn't buy in philippines and had even before moving to philippines.. Big rig electronic music stuff,and some books and accessories.. Not cheap to buy the stuff all over again.. Eventually sold one boxes contents for $1200 and gave away the other box contents worth a good amount but no time to wait around on a buyer and i maybe have a shoe box size worth of whatever was leftover.. I moved to another country again and shipping all that stuff was not as appealing as paying off my debts.. And today my debts are paid and i travel much lighter...

    I have personal items....family heirlooms, etc...that I had sent over from the U.S. Now I am needing to get these items back to Oklahoma. I am just wondering if it would be cheaper to take back in a checked luggage or box on the plane?

    Found this old thread that showed up during an absense;

    Manilaforwarder ships BB to USA;

    The company also offers balikbayan box services from the Philippines to any point in the United States for only $150 plus other fees per standard balikbayan box.

    I shipped three bb boxes from California to Dumaguete with Manila Forwarders about 6 years ago. Based upon my experiences with them, without going into detail here, I’d have to say I definitely would not recommend them.

    Did you ship them manilaforwarders.com, or manilaforwarder.com? Two different companies. Sorta like the real Dumagueteinfo vs. dumagueteinfo-net-services...
