⌛ The search for new anti cancer drugs.....

Worldwide there is a quest for new generation anti biotics and anti cancer drugs. The last few years scientist have published remakable good results with essence drained from many kinds of marine Invertebrates. I had already posted some information about the wellknown first antiviral drug ZOVIRAX ( against Herpes simplex / cold sores ) with is developed from body liquids from a specific deepwater Caribbean Sponge.I will not go into to much details.
Also the Giant clam (TRIDACNA) which is in a breeding study with the local Dumaguete Silliman University get a lot of attention nowadays. Mainly in the USA and The Netherlands where I come from , there are big high-Tech Laboratories seeking for the ultimate weapon against all forms of tumors and many kind of Cancer but also Multiple Sclerosis .
I have attached some pictures of the Giant Clam which comes in many varieties and sizes up to 1 !!! Meter diameter even . Also one picture of my own breeding of a kind of sponge which is now known to be able to stop breast cancer in an early stage. The biggest problem is not the breeding itself , but breeding the specific type of plancton for each specific kind of Sponge...With an new technique called INVIVO IMAGINE one can see WHAT kind of placton is " consumed " by the specific sponge. Sponges and Clams are called FILTERFEEDERS . They filter their food from the water passing thru their bodies , 24 hours a day....All pictures taken at the Laboratory here in Manila
