I am starting a new thread on this - hope word will get out before it gets stepped on by Wrye's daily weather. It's too early to tell, but it appears now as though the typhoon will veer off to the north before it gets close to us, but it has a decent chance of coming ashore somewhere in the Philippines, and, at a minimum, disrupting travel plans this Easter weekend. I made this a sticky thread. It will stay at the top of the list. I will downgrade it once the storm has passed.
Looks like we'll be getting rain, and possibly a bit of storm, on Sunday. Typhoon appears to be heading towards landfall in central and southern Luzon. In case you run out of things to be concerned about, there's another disturbance following right behind this one. Latest reports are that it appears to be weakening and will most likely come ashore early Sunday somewhere around mid Luzon. We may not feel the effects of it here, but storms are notoriously unpredictable, and it definitely bears watching, particularly for anyone traveling in the vicinity of Manila over the weekend. http://www.typhoon2000.ph/activetrack.gif
