For the last few days the Central Bank called each bank three times a day to find out the number of persons in the bank. Using this information starting today banks are ordered to shorten their walk-up business hours by one hour. Instead of 9am to 3pm starting today the bank's doors will be open from 9am to 2pm. ATMs are not affected, they are still available 24 hours a day. Lee Plaza also indicated to their employees that that their operating hours will be shortened. This needs to be verified. Look for instructions from the Department of Labor in the coming days about small restaurants and eateries with 5 employees or less being advised to close. President Duterte received Restricted Emergency Powers from Congress. It is too soon to see how that will work out but I wish him well for us and our Negros friends and neighbors sake. shaky
