Just noticed that the latest tropical storm is tracking right towards us. Eye of the storm expected to hit Dumaguete around 9pm on Friday night. Over the years have gotten used to typhoons following a predictable path usually heading North and slamming into Bicol or Quezon while we only catch the edge of it. So far this one isnt going that route .
    Be prepared.

Actually its looking like a false alarm. According to typhoon2000.ph its tracking North now and hopefully we will only get the tail end of it.

We had one here in 1990, super typhoon Ruping, sincerely doubt it'll be that bad......Having survived that in Dumaguete, doubt there can be much worse on the way, this late in the season.

Yes Davyl, thanks for pointing that out. Track has changed but wind speeds seem to have weakened. Still in an area like this that doesnt experience many typhoons we can expect a lot of fallen branches, minor floods and it never takes much to knock the power out . SugAR cane truck took ours out yesterday!

It's the first thing I expect now,if the wind gets up the power goes off, better stock up on candles hehe. Had a brown out here yesterday so rang up to find out why, cutting branches of trees so went and looked what they up to,no such thing as tree surgeons here just cut and drop right onto the power lines!
