Our daughter was born at Holy Child. While my other half was there I spoke to an American guy who was very keen to be there for the actual birth. Initially the answer was a flat no but after a lot of arguing and pleading they eventually relented. But I believe that was an exception rather than the norm.

I was going to mention the hospital did not allow me in to watch my gf's birthing a few years back as the labor room is full of females who would feel uncomfortable with the presence of a male. But this was not in Dumaguete so maybe its different here. Perhaps they have a private room for that rather than a ward?

I was refused to see the birth of my son at Holy Child Hospital eight years ago.

When a woman delivers a baby it is usually called a birth, unless it is the size of the small ship.

We used the birthing clinic opposite nevas pizza place a couple yrs ago. All good for a normal birth which my wife had luckily. If your under 35 yrs old it would cost a couple thosand peso but over that age its 11k which is still ok.
Luckily my mrs had a straight forward birth so it it was the latter price and all was good.
Nice people and clean place with no bullshit like other places i could mention with the add ons.
