My current wireless mouse is eating through a AA battery every 2 months or so. I was looking for a rechargeable one and ran across this: Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman (USB/PS/2) $547! What in the world makes this thing worth $500+? It's a freaking trackball mouse, the technology is about as old as computers are. I want to annoy my gf with the trackball mouse but it certain isn't worth $547.
However.....if all 383 people who left a review have purchased this thing that means that Logitech has made at LEAST $209,501 USD off of this one device.
I KNEW someone was going to come back with that.....I'm not even going to google it because I'm almost sure it exists and I really don't want to see that. (it either exists or there is some new type of fetish porn out there that I don't really want to know about.) Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Forget the battery type, go old fashioned and use plug in. Put the expensive one on a xmas wish list. Go for the battery type after you purchase a large quanity of batteries at a wholesale club.
I really don't like dealing with a wired mouse. I have some devices that need to stay near the TV that need a wireless mouse as well. I decided to try something new (well, two new things): A rechargeable wireless touchpad "mouse". Amazon.com: Logitech Rechargeable Touchpad T650 with Windows 8 Multi-Touch Navigation - Black: Computers & Accessories And a mouse that only has one button but utilizes gestures (a "smart" mouse?) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006MBP7T0/ref=gno_cart_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A16ONSJZCR5GIF Checked both for compatibility with Linux and both seem to be good to go. I suspect the second one is going to be the easiest to adjust to. The track pad (similar to Apple's "Magic Mouse") will take a little longer to get used to.
