Any advice on a centrally located unexpensive hotel in Bacalod? Something like Bethel in Dumaguete?

L'Fisher Hotel, Sugarland, Business Inn and I just stayed at the Natures Village in Talisay. You will need a car to get to Natures Village though. There is a new hotel called Westown Hotel near Robinsons mall. 1,300 to 2,800 per nite. The Casino has a hotel up stairs too.

We stayed at the 11th street Bed and Breakfast (on 11th street near Pension Bacolod). Nice clean room with fan for around P400/night. We were much more pleased there than at Pension Bacolod where we have stayed before.

If we stay at a hotel it's usually L'Fisher. Nice rooms, very good meals, internet cafe across the street. Nice, and inexpensive, chicken place a two-minute walk away...If you ring for a reservation, get the room price first...then ask for the corporate rate...then the name of the clerk. Works a treat...saves a few hundred pesos a night too. Outstanding free breakfast(s) included..

The Sea Breeze Hotel is quite central (not far from the new SM).
Though it looks a bit jaded from outside, the rooms are well kept and the bathrooms are surprisingly large.

Ah, the Seabreeze. Did our wedding reception there, back in the old days, when it and the Sugarland were the only hotels in town. Stayed there many times, but not in recent years. Used to have a wonderful open air restaurant downstairs with huge ceiling fans and surprisingly great food. Have to check it out again sometime....
