    Hi Folks,

I'm new here and will be visiting your fine city this CNY. I'm sure this question has been asked many a times but I'll have another go! Can anyone recommend a decent place to stay? Somewhere affordable but nice! Also...what are the perks of staying in Dumaguete long term and what is the downside? I'm looking to find a, more or less, permenant holiday place as opposed to always moving around on holidays. Any thoughts?

There are plenty of budget places to stay in-town ,you just have to look and more and more places start to have long term during the low season ..........Good luck Mate

Hotel Palwa and Obdulias Business inn are both in the heart of the City and highly recommended. Harolds and Casa Demonteverde also great value but not in walking distance to the CityCenter.
    contact details here:

If you look for an appartment I recommend to stay in a Hotel a few days, rent a bike and look arround

I wasn't thinking of studying. I was wondering if the city was in need of a tutorial center. It sounds like Dumaguete is a uni/college town...with a lot of foreigners. Just wondering...
