I want to thank everyone for the valuable information on this forum. I am writing from Wisconsin, USA, which has finally found spring. After another long winter, I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a move to the Phils. I used to live in Hong Kong, and spent most of my holidays in the Phils, many in Dumaguete. While I know everyone has their opinion of "paradise," I really felt the area fit my temperament, and I hope to make a more permanent move soon.

Have heard about this forum when I was in Dumaguete in 2016, it was not my first time in the Phils and I'm looking forward to come back asap for holiday, and for retirement in a relatively near future.
It's now about 2-3 years that I've used to read this forum, makes me feel a bit like in holiday and reminds me of the good times here.

Been to the Philippines a few times and married to a lady from Cebu. Currently doing my longest trip almost 3 months away. 3 weeks Chiang Mai Thailand and 2 months in The Philippines.

I'm thinking Dumaguete could be a place I retire in the coming years so intend spending a bit of time in January looking around. We plan a scoot ride around Negros on my Nmax.
