Kawasan Falls: Pearl of Cebu Philippines

Welcome to Kawasan Falls

Welcome to Kawasan Falls

After our trip from Moalboal Basdaku beach in Cebu, we decided to go to Kawasan Falls which is located at Badian Cebu the town before Moalboal. Kawasan Falls is a three-stage cascade of clear blue water from mountain springs located in the jungles of the Cebu Island. So to give you some insights about our travel, here are some information’s that might help you if you are planning to go there. Starting of from Moalboal bus stop, where we had drop off from Basdaku Beach, we rode a jeepney asking the driver to bring us directly to Kawasan falls. The fare was 60 pesos each since we had a special treatment as we are the only passenger of the jeepney. But if you are on a budget, you can ride a bus with at an amount of 20 pesos and drop of at Badian City proper and ride a triclycle going to Kawasan Falls at an amount of 10 pesos. The travel time form Moalboal to Kawasan Falls is about 1 hour and a half.

As we reach the Kawasan Falls entrance, we were asked to pay 20 pesos for the government fee. Since it was our first time, we had a guide. But if you can just follow the road going there, you can actually save since the guide is quite expensive. It was a 20-25 minutes walk going to the falls. There is no other option going there but to walk. But as you walk, you won’t be bored because you can see trails of water flowing in the area. The view will give you an idea about the length of the river.

When we reach the placed, the tiring walk was worth it. We were so amazed by the beautiful falls and the wonderful surroundings. There are tables for rent at 300 pesos each table. So we were settled. We had our early dinner there because they also have a restaurant. Since it was our first time to go there, we took a lot of pictures. The water was so cold but it was very refreshing. We were staying in the place for almost 4 hours. They also offer a raft for rent at 300 pesos, which a guide would bring you to the falls and stand by for thirty minutes.

You  have an option either to have an overnight to go home. They offer overnight stay for a room which can accommodate 8-10 people, at the amount of 1000 pesos. But since we don’t want to stay long because we still have work the next day, and we still need to travel back to Dumaguete, we decided to go home. So we stared walking going back to the highway.  We waited for a bus going to Santander Cebu. The travel period is about 1 hour. The fare is 45 pesos.  When we arrived at Santander, we rode a pedicab going to Liloan and paid 25 pesos each. As we reach the port, around 9 pm, we waited for the next trip which is at 10 pm. And so we went home safely. That was one awesome adventure.
