Our Palawan Escapade Part 3

On our way to the Nature Park

On our fourth day, we woke up at around 6 am and ate our free breakfast. After our breakfast, we immediately prepared for our next trip. Our tourist guide and our driver will arrived and pick us up at 7:30 am. Our next adventure will be at the famous underground river. The travel time is about an hour ffrom our hotel. Now, let me give you some informations about the underground river. This tourist destination is included in the 7 wonders of nature in the world. Before reaching the underground river, we passed by the nature park which is a protected area. We had to walk for 5 minutes before reaching the entrance of the underground river. The nature park is surrounded with big trees and the structure is like a rainforest. The park is composed of flora and fauna. The said park is surrounded with monkeys and monitor lizards everywhere. They are not harmful as they are justobserving every person who goes in the park. The place is clean but you can really smell the waste of the monkeys all around. When we reached the entrance, we waited for 10 minutes before we rode our 11 sitter motorized boat. We were asked to wear helmets for safety purposes.

When it was our turn, I was really excited to go inside the cave. The cave is so dark and there was also a faul smell inside. The smell is due to the bats living inside the cave. There are 8 different families of bats inside the cave. They are not harmful because they are already immune to thousands of visitors everyday. The underground river is about 30 feet deep. The water is cold and fuzzy. We only had one flash light for the entire tour inside the cave at approximately 45 minutes. The atmosphere inside is very wonderful. The different rock formations are all natural. It is amazing how God has made all these marvelous creations. The locals also maintained the natural look of the cave.

Inside, we saw different forms of rocks which has some resemblance of food, people, animals and places. You can also see millions of bats roaming around the cave. After the 45 minutes tour, we went back to island of Puerto Princesa and had our buffet lunch at around 12 noon. After our lunch, we went back to the city and we had a stop over at their souvenir shop in the downtown area. After which, we went back to our hotel accommodation and had some rest. During dinner time, we went to another famous restaurant in the City. The Rock and Billys restaurant. The place is just near our hotel so we just waked going to the said place. The restaurant is similar to a foreign place. If you are inside, you are like in the USA. The architecture is nice and the place is surrounded with imported stuffs and beers. They have a beautiful bar inside which is similar as what I can see in Hollywood movies. The night was fun and we were so full. After our dinner at around 10 pm, we went back to our hotel and rest.
