It was in the news today, in BC Canada, that 2 women got lost in the mountains and activated their IPhone 14 "SATELLITE SOS". . yep a satellite emergency system in an Iphone that allows you to send an SOS when there is no cell phone signal. They were rescued in hours instead of weeks.

Great for those times when you get kidnapped in the mountains by the NPA or MILF
