Purchasing goods in the local market provides endless economic and health benefits to the common people. Generally, public markets help grow and connect urban and rural economies. They promote development and keep money in the local neighborhood. Instead of giving your money to large corporations to invest in similar goods found in the market, you’re supporting local farmers and small business owners by choosing to buy them in the common ground which is the public market. Local farmers, vendors, fishermen, and small business owners need the money more than large health food chains to grow, raise and produce their products.
Aside from the fact that it is healthier and more sustainable to eat food that is locally grown, it also helps one save on the budget, energy, and resources needed to give you as a customer. In this way which they transport your food, you are doing your part to help lessen the pollution in the environment. The benefits of markets are numerous. They offer increasing access to fresh, healthy food. Also, they serve as public gathering places for people. Some come here to register for voting, others come here for government events like giving of free rice and food, some also come here to bring there dogs because there is a veterinary clinic located here.
