Fish 153 | Dumaguete Info

Fish 153 is one of the few Korean restaurants in Dumaguete. Being a Korean zealot that I am I know how Korean food should taste like. So anyway, me and my friends decided to have dinner at Fish 153. I dragged them all along to experience the wonders of Korean cuisine. Korean cuisine is what you call an “acquired taste”. Other may find it a bit strange at first bite but once you get the hang of it, you just keep craving for more.

Fish 153 serves a vareity of dishes that appeals to different kinds of tastes. They have pork, beef, vegan, and noodle-based dishes. The price range of their dishes are from Php100-200. Not bad huh?

Korean  dining is usually accompanied by “banchan” or side dishes, which is a staple of the Korean diet. There are a lot of side dishes that are available in Korean cuisine. In our case, Fish 153 served us six servings of side dishes. What’s good about them is that they have UNLIMITED servings of their side dishes and it’s for FREE. Who wouldn’t want that? My favorite ‘banchan” would be Kimchi. It’s the one with the chopsticks on the photo above.

We had Mini Gimbap (Tuna) for our appetizer. It’s basically rice wrapped in seaweed wrapping and stuffed with Tuna. They taste so good and they only cost Php20/serving. They have beef, hot pepper, and tuna.

Ahhh! One of my favorite dishes! This is Kimchi Bokkeum or Kimchi Fried Rice. It’s rice fried with Kimchi, topped with an Egg then sprinkled with sesame seeds. It is indeed one delightful dish! Beware, this could really be spicy. I say it’s a must try when visiting Fish 153.

Another of my favorites is Jjajjang-myun or Black Bean Sauce Noodles. I really don’t know how to explain this in words. It’s an awesome dish. You just have to simply try it and you’ll know what I mean.

This is an ugly shot of me. Who cares? Focus on the noodles..hehe Nom Nom Nom

Fish 153 is the place to be when you’re searching for authentic korean cuisine. A must try in Dumaguete City! Annyeong! ^_^
