Today i was shopping in Hypermart while waiting for my partner i decided to count the expats i got to 46 and i am sure i missed some. It makes me wonder how many long nose really live here ? how much have influenced the increase in rent, the price of land , and MAYBE even the cost of living .what would happen to dumaguete if we all left?.
One thing i love to see is the children of these mixed marriages, i would like to be around in 20 years to see them all growen up . not the most important of post just thinking out allowed cheers

On the contrary Alex, it shows compassion and Forethought about your fellow Ex-pat, his Family and life in General, A great pity that more ex-pats don't think aloud like this. It may just take that "BIG BAD FOREIGNER" label off us, that we sometimes seem to attract.

Good on yer mate. Keep those thoughts in your heart and you Will see those kids grow Up for Sure.

    JP:wink:

In my experience there certainly are many BIG BAD FOREIGNERS here, that give the rest a bad name. I have unfortunately seen and met quite a few of them:(

There are some, of course, but I believe the good ones far outweigh the bad ones in Dumaguete. It just happens that those "big bad foreigners" have big loud mouths and get themselves a lot more attention. Many a-hole tourists come through as well and don't really care about the damage they do to the locals image of foreigners.

    Side story:
I had an incident in Why Not when I was there on this last trip with a "tourist". Some *sshole, who supposedly lived in Siquijor (for 24 years is what he said) and was in Dumaguete to have some drinks, was making unwanted advances on the gf and her sister (grabbing the @ss and making sexual hand gestures) and wouldn't stop....and his "wife" was there being a drunk nuisance as well. After I gave him several warnings to knock it off he somehow ended up knocking himself out and on the floor bleeding and his wife ended up getting a beer bottle to the face. (I have no idea how that happened of course, he must have slipped and hit his head on a bar stool...being drunk and all. I blame the beer bottle to his wife's face on a poltergeist. The police were ok with that story too. Strange how no locals wanted to be a witness to backup his or his wife's story that said it was me who was to blame. I actually did not touch either of them....apparently I wasn't the only person who they were pissing off, I just happen to be around when the police showed up and had to go to the police station with them.) Seems like these pricks like to hang around Why Not as I seem to have a confrontation with an out of control tourist once a month when I'm there.

From what I hear the Why Not does have the reputation for attracting that type of person:smile:.

Another guy from same area was also arrested on a bust, found with shaboo and two .45 cal pistols in working order. Arrested and something strange happened to the .45cals,suddenly they had no firing pins in them so bail was set at p150,000 and he was out. Two weeks later he was sat at a local bar and car pulls up two guys pull out two 9mm's and let off 17 shots at him. He lives due to him wearing a vest, only took 3 bullets to the shoulders! We all know who were the hit men

You know when you have been hit by a real professional, 2 taps to the heart, and 1 to the head..........it is called insurance..........lol:D .......much more affective than a triple bypass........... and much more economical 3 shots only. Maybe these guys need to go to Sniper School, .......one shot...one kill ? Oh sh*t, do they know where I live.............oops..........
