Went to Manila Bi to renew my permanent visa. I was fined PHP 16,400 plus 600 in affidavit fees. My situation is probably unique to most:: I have 5 year permanent quota visa from the U.S. I was single and living in Makati when I got it. I moved to Dumaguete shortly after I got it. I didn't know I had to report the move to BI; hence PHP 8400 penalty I got married and did not know I had to report that to BI; hence, another PHP 8400 fine Nice surprises. Plus air and 2 nights hotel. There goes a Christmas vacation. More fun in the Philippines
They caught the address change Tuesday then called me Wednesday to go back in and pay the penalty and get an affidavit for the marriage. Other required documentation like barangay clearance showed the move. I did put on the form that I am married, I do not want anything to mess up my last will and testament when that bus arrives.
Yes sir, REPORT! If you are here over 6 months and you have extended regularly as per Law, you will have an ACI card. Each year Jan to March you are required to Report to the BOI that you are still here. If you are a 13a Holder after the Yearly reporting, you need to Renew and Report that you are still here every 5 years, to renew your card. PatO is a Quota visa Holder and has just reported for his 5 years. Unfortuntaly he neglected to tell BOI a couple of things and got Fined. as a newbe, please keep your eyes peeled for things that we need to do. I see you are not a newcomer to the Forum and now wonder, how you did not know of these things. Have a good day and Please, don't be a Stranger anymore. JP
I've been here three years and have reported every year. Last time I had to go to Cebu to do it because the guy here in Duma BOI was found to be less than honest and apparently not forwarding the cash where it needs to go.. I'm looking forward to my ride on the BYB (Big Yellow Bus) in January to BOI in Cebu again.
Y You may very well be able to report here as long as you kept the reciept from last year in Cebu, we will see!
You should be able to report here in Duma. I can, I have a 13a permanent, and am within the 5 year period, no problem. Stuff having to go to Cebu if you don't really have to, unless you like it there :D. Try it in Duma first.
You can do your yearly reporting here in Dumaguete, but you can't do your 5 year ACR card renewal which is why Pat had to go to Manila,
