We like it there, 150 peso each to swim is ok, but i wont pay 300p for consumeable we dont use in the short time we are there early morning .NO i am not kuripot cheers
Alex, maybe my post was not clear, here is the old and new charges as I undestand them. I hope to visit today to see if I have correct interpreted them. OLD Costs: 150 P Consumable Entrance fee 100 P use of pool I forgot the old Miniature Golf fee, but there was charge of either 50 P or 75 P NEW Costs: No Consumable Entrance fee (150 P consumable savings) for Restaurant and Bar areas 80 P Use of amenities fee (includes unlimited use of pool, miniature golf, and pool/patio area (20 P plus past Miniature Gold fee Savings) (Note Amenities fee will apply even if you do not use pool or miniature golf but you sit in the Pool deck areas. I hope this clarifies the fees. I will try to attend the re-opening today to see if I got the fees figured out right. The food prices were suppose to go down too, but a review of the new menu will define those prices..
Alex, maybe I was not clear on the new and old fees. The only fee I think you will be concerned with now will be the 80 P per person Amenities Fee. All other fees seem to have been eliminated or included in flat Amenities fee. I will try to state the fees clearly as I understand them: OLD FEES: 150 Consumable Entrance Fee 100 P Pool use Fee 75 P Miniature Gold Fee ( as I remember) NEW FEES: NO Consumable Entrance Fee 80 P Amenities Fees per person which includes unlimited use of Pool, Miniature Golf, and Pool deck area with structures use Fee (NOTE: siting on the pool deck area kicks in the Amenities fee whether you use any of the Amenities or not. ) No separate Miniature Golf Fee - included in new Amenities fee package. As long as you use the Amenities if you sit in the pool deck area it seems like a great deal. I will try to attend the re-opening today to see if I have stated the fees properly. If I have not I will post a correction. I hope to see a few people there. I have been fighting a cold all week so I do not know what my activity level will be.
A great night was had by all, good show and cold beer and good food. The service was also good even though the staff were stretched to the limit in the kitchen. Good luck guys!
Glad you enjoyed it there, however one persons definition of "good food" may not be anothers, so it will be interesting to get more feedback from other patrons moving forward.
That is a very good statement of awareness of food tastes. How do you make a simple hamburger that matches the definition of a good hamburger for a European, an American, a New Zealander, and a Filippino all siting at the same table or even the same restaurant. I mean I have never had a hamburger with cucumber on it in American, yet i continue pick them off the hamburgers here. You can not meet the expectations of the international tastes with "foreigner food" as there is no such thing as common foreigner food other than maybe McDonalds, KFC certainly is not very close. The concept of foreigner food is a joke and a point of frustration for restaurant owners here because how ever they make foreigner food, half the customers do not like it because it is not what they expect. The owner of Bambulo is European, so he is not going to perfectly match the expectation tastes of the Americans, New Zealanders and Filipinos, etc. The only food that can be defined as good food is probably the Filipino food because it is the only food we measure, and evaluate by similar standards that we have come to acknowledge while living here. There are highly touted foreigner restaurants here that do not meet my taste standards. I gave up ordering my favorite beef dishes in restaurants here because even the restaurants serving "imported" beef seem to screw it up. I would rather eat something other than beef than accept what they call beef dishes here at any restaurant and be disappointed, , even the American chain restaurants found in parts of Manila do not match the American equivalents. My American taste of beef has prejudiced my acceptance of any other thing they call beef here. The point is you are most likely never going to please everyone, especially with foreigner food. I mean what ever they put in their mouth Filipinos have a tendency to chew and smile (it always makes you stomach feel better than starving) .... while we expats have a tendency to eat and complain that it does not meet our mothers cooking standards. The also have mixed drinks and their Milky Rum drink is some thing I have not experienced in any other place in the world. A small pitcher does wonders for my dates inhibitions and is always been a good investment for me. Enjoy the the environment, pools and cleanliness at Bambulo resort. You can always eat a some other place but you will probably not find a nicer environment to enjoy your sunny afternoon, or romantic evening iincluding the candle lite tables at than Bambulo Resort. The staff and the customers are nice to spend time with there. (Personally I have given up addressing the food critics and skeptic here, I will eat what I like at Bambulo, ignoring the dishes I do not like, and enjoy the environment. We need to lighten up here until we can all come up the perfect restaurant because there are not a lot of clean, well maintained themed resorts here in the area, I would hate to lose another one. Bambulo Resort is more than just a restuarant, try enjoying the other characteristic of the place while you are looking for the place the pleases everyone all the time. By the way it was not economics that closed Bambulo Resort for two months but staffing issues, more information regarding that issue would create liability for too many people, maybe even the forum to disclose further.) ..
Usually if an establishment has staffing issues it is a Management problem not a staff problem, and as I have said before in another post, some restaurants here in Duma do not seem to have a staff problem where others do, based on the inexperience of the Management or lack of awareness and ability of the Management. And yes you are right, the Bambulo environment is very nice........to quote a famous saying - " the buck stops here", at the top.
