In or out of the US it's $10,000, without declaring it, and no limit if you declare it. https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/de...-amount-that-can-be-brought-into-or-leave-the
Worth noting is that to and from the US it's the total amount for a passenger or passengers traveling together. So if you travel with your wife and kids, it's still only $10,000 for all of you together. As for the 10,000p in and out of the Philippines I have not seen it mentioned anywhere that it should be counted together. At least on the tourism governmental website it say 'any person' http://www.tourism.gov.ph/sitepages/customs.aspx
I will agree with you on the last piece, the PI seem to always count a Husband and wife as Joint and several & The Kids as add ons to that one family. but as always mileage may Vary! JP
I have traveled in and out of many Countries and the fact virtually stands that you can even carry unlimited Dollars as long as you declare it! You may open yourself to having to prove (by some banking phone calls) that indeed it is yours, obtained legally -in other words! When leaving the Philippines I just give my remaining peso's to family and friends. Your money is your money,,,you just need to satisfy Customs at times regarding this fact !
