    After WW2, many immigrants arrived in Australia, namely, Germans, Italians, Greeks, Poles, and other various Europeans, some years later Vietnamese, Koreans, Japanese, Libyan, Iranian, Indian and of course Chinese have been here for many years since the Gold strike days. At no time in that period were there any real problems with those cultures assimilating into the Australian way of life. I few hiccups with Indians, but that settled down quickly. however, we now have this Radical Muslim problem that the rest of the Western world is struggling with also. These radicals are indoctrinating the children, and that is a real worry, as I am sure they are doing around the globe, here is a link the one of the many stories in Australia of this behaviour:- SCARY - :frown:

    :banghead::cry::eek::thumbsdown::mad::rage:

    The Muslim community, the good ones which I am sure, ( I hope ) are the majority, need to do more to assist in stopping this sort of practice around the globe.:thumbsup:

    Roger, as you say Aus is now in the same Situation as the rest of the West I don't think there is an answer Short of denouncing the religion in any country that feels Strong enough to do it. By taking away the Influences of people in Charge of Youngsters can there ever be a hope of Stopping the ROT The UK Did it with Catholics way back in History and it worked for a While ( HenryV111's Time) now to a Degree things are on an Even Keel so to Speak. France and some other Countries are showing their Teeth (on the Muslims) but it needs a lot more to Follow and Decry the Faith ( Some Hope of that I guess)

    If the Human Rights Brigade want to Interfere then Let them deal with the Problem and Maybe Just Maybe THEY will also Wake up to the fact this is a World Wide Problem :unsure: The Spanish Did it in History and burned all the Mosques bar One, drove them to the West and that to a degree created Portugal but again they are back. So it really is a "what goes round, comes round" situation. The Man or Organisation that can sort this will surely get through those Pearly gates. Hmmmmmmmm or meet those Virgins depending what they Follow. :sneaky:

    It does seem like Australia has problem but not so different from the rest of the world. Being "politically correct" seems to be more important to many than being "personally secure". If the Muslim community chooses not to step forward condemning the violence and hatred, then soon the rest of the world will develop an negative attitude against all Muslims. This is consequences for the community when other groups decide that an eye for an eye is not such a bad idea. It will be their on safety at risk as "terrorists" of other special interest type groups retaliate. If the governments of the world are afraid to be less than everything to everyone, then there will be a fight to see what one single group makes the decision for everyone else. I think we may be in the fight now, a fight between power pacifists who talk that are getting tired of getting there asses wiped and terrorist who love to chock up another violent victory for publicity purposes. It is not too difficult to see who may win this battle, but it sad, however dead people do not talk too much.
    Maybe it is time for the world population to realize that there are difference between countries, cultures, clans families etc. and accept one another instead of fighting. However if one side continues to fight, then maybe it is time to fight back... just thinking.
    Personally I am not for just waiting to see what bomb, kidnapping, etc happens next before coming up with a concept to resolve things.

    Yes, you are right, it is a very difficult challenge for the World in general, up until recently Australia has been isolated from all this rubbish, but now now, we are right in amongst it unfortunately.:banghead::unsure:

    I work along side with about 5 Muslims and 2 are also great friends of mine that even attended my wedding 19+ years ago. They are as great of people as any i have discovered . I submit in all factions within different cultures there are wackos. The term (Muslim extremist) is best suited in describing the radical, or (radical Muslim extremist). Having said that....in all religion you have extremists, it's just the Muslim extremist that seem to capture the most prevalent Media attention in these times, and of coarse with reason!
