Scenario (Fictitious) John Smith from Arizona, marries Edna Gomez from Cebu, They Live in Florida for 12 years and Edna has got Duel nationality, Traveling the World is so much easier now as they can Visit many more Countries depending on Which Pass Port she uses. So Mama's 90th Birthday is Looming so they decide to visit the Fils for the Occasion. Tickets Booked, Hotel and other things Sorted and the date arrives, Taxi in Front and last minuet checks reveal, During all the Preparations and rush to be ready Edna's Filipino Passport is not in the Folder, Quick search and Nothing. It just is not there. So she says oh well I have my US Passport here in the folder but...but.... Shush john it will be in the file in the case but..but.. John SHUSH please, we can sort it out over there, The Meter is Running. (don't you just love their stinginess at times) OK Off They go 19/20 ( However long it took) Hours Later, Mactan International Airport CEBU. Ooooooooooops, Edna has to Enter on her US Passport and NO BB stamp for John. 2 Questions come to mind, John we Know will now have to Extend as we all have to. ( No BB Stamp) so his stay would be a Normal event for all things. But for Edna, 1. As she Entered on her US Passport, will she have to Extend as a Foreigner, Although she may have now Found the Filipino Passport Passport. Which I guess she will exit on and claim nationality Throughout the stay. Although if they Stamp a Filipino Passport on Entry (I don't know if they do) She may well have a problem on Departure as the Entry Stamp will be in her US Passport OH! OH! (More red tape) However, 2. If she did not Find the Filipino Passport, would (If she is here over 6 months) A have to get a ACR Card? And Extend Also would she have to get a ECC even though she is a Filipino? Just one of those crazy? Thoughts one can get when you have your Wife at home for the day and you keep getting under here feet ( Ruining my Normal Weekday Routine) I am sure this would never happen?But.................................. JP
If Edna is a Filipino I highly doubt she would forget that using her Philippines passport would save her some pesos. Though if she did use it and get stamped I would think it wise for her to extend the visa. I'm sure if she made a trip to immigration it could get sorted out.
Well of course this was a Fictitious Fishing exercise on a "What IF" as we know many strange things happen here But point taken although, I doubt John would have got his BB in the end as the law says "at Point of Entry" BUT.... There you Go JP
Legally he would have been screwed on getting his BB stamp. In reality though, it's possible with a little grease.
