Hi all, my name is Nick. I've been island hopping my way from Manila to Dumaguete where I am seeking a BPO or to set up an opportunity to employ.

The trip so far has been great and a few weeks here has enabled my initial plan of accessing a BPO in Manila to change to Dumaguete. Which I believe is a much better plan.

I'm pleased to have come across this forum and have read a number of threads that have been very informative for what I intend to do.

I'll be in Dumaguete next week. My work is in writing very basic business plans. I wish to start by enagging/employing a single person to begin writing two to three per week. I am open to discussing any arrangement, wage, office space, etc. Whatever recipe that leads to success.

If anyone would like to offer any advice on starting points please do.

Question is, are intending to do this Legally ? if the answer is yes then you will need Permits, Business Registration and to do this you will need a Filipino Partner, usually a Wife or Trusted G/F if the Answer is No, then I don't think many will put their necks on the Line to Aide and Abet you my Friend. Also any Forum as this would not want anything Illegal talked about in Open Forum.. Not being Negative here Nick but Foreigners get bad press sometimes and it is best we all try and do the right thing.

Employing a Local/National is not as easy as it sounds if it is a Proper Employment. Even Domestic Workers now have Rights and the DOLE Regulations can be obscure at times but have to be met correctly. Where Filipino workers are concerned, you may be watched very carefully.

Anyway have a look at this link and I guess you will see where I am coming from!

Best of Luck my friend, Post and let us know how you are Doing.

    Hi Jack,

Thank you for your reply. I am most definitely going to do everything legally and above board as this is a long term venture.

Thanks for the link, I am researching incorporation in either Hong Kong or Australia with a legitimate branch office in the Philippines. In the short term I'll most likely seek a BPO that can sponsor staff for me.

    Warm regards,

    Nick.

Well Nick that IS a Different Ball Game, One I know nothing about, Employing a local by a Foreign Company would no Doubt be a DOLE issue for you, even if Operated outside the RP but the one thing that will need sorting is the Payment of their Income Tax and SSS So I would think more Research is needed on this. I know of only one Member here that can Maybe answer this satellite Office issue and no doubt he may step Forward. Having said that, he is not a Filipino so was here on a Work Permit. I am not too sure that a small ( One man Band, for a better phrase) would be a Viable situation for many, Peculiar Regulations that the RP can throw at anyone may well make you Rethink Incorporating out side of the RP. As with all Business, it's all about Money :pompus:

You post is a bit vague on exactly what advice you are looking for (neither of your posts has a direct question in it). Do you want to know how to start a business, hire employees or find an outsourcing company in Dumaguete to provide you with employees/labor?

Hi Wrye, and thank you Jack for.your feedback.

As an interim step I'm seeking a BPO that can sponsor an employee of my choice. This is an option that has been offered to me in Manila.

What I believe is the best option is to engage a BPO that will have this employee in their office for the first three months and I pay up front for the space, and the employee. Once this probationary period ends I'd either continue in this form or be a foreign company with a branch here.

I'd appreciate any fefeedback and to network with any individuals that could help clarify the possibility, or help create it.

    Nick.
