Flip Flops Update -negative Review!

My last experience in flip flops wasn't good, I was overcharged for drinks I didn't have ,when I complained ,the manager ordered the staff that I have to sign for every drink,as if I was the criminal ,when the staff overcharged me and totally admitted it.But yet the manager was extremely rude when i asked him why I was over charged ,he pointed to the street and told me and my friend both to "f"off and there's the door,.we were everyday customers spending 600 daily each.,haven't been back since Christmas,I hope the owners read this and realize the extreme non customer service and the rudeness by the so called manager.i am ok to never go back as I don't feel welcomed and now I can get a super pizza in Bacong ,and nice cold beer on the beach.,,,,the plot of the whole story is flip flops lost 1200 pesos a day over one drink that I never had.

I have been there five times. The first time I had bought cheap 20 P fish at the public market, drove into Flip Flops parked very close to the guard who was with friends, it looked that they were drinking, laughing and smoking. I ate, and drove directly home to Bacong, to find the fish missing. I have never before or since lost a Kilo of fish on the motorcycle or had anything every dropped of the front handlebars without me know it. Just saying.....
The next time I went in I told the manager, because they have a trip adviser sign the says: "If you like the service/food then post on trip adviser, if you have a problem tell us" (paraphased) I liked the sign a lot and told the manager and he apologized and I have never seen a guard there since. The manager's response was good.
The last visit I order dumplings as I was not really hungry and just wanted a snack. The time was about 5 PM. I also order a coke, worked on the coke for about half an hour, and then the waitress returned to tell me "They gave my order to someone else, and I would have to wait for another order to be made up" Since I had already waited half an hour, I was not ready to wait another half an hour and told her so. The Manager happened to walk by at the time, he was surprised I was upset and asked what happened. When I explained he comped the coke, and I think he offer to comp food (can't remember) however I was disgusted, and decided to leave and go to Taco Tayo.. If there was a problem the waitress in my opinion should not have been hiding it from the on-site manager, as she was only covering her own @ss on the issue, and letting the restaurant and the management take any consequences. However I also was a little tired of the manager's good will gestures and just wanted to not have my fish lost, and more order served to others so I would endure long waits. The sign was great but management has to be hands on to have a restaurant run well. Not managing and waiting for the customers to complain because of these type of issue does not seem like any management is going on there to me. The manager was responsive and heard my issues, and did not send me to the street. However preventive management is better than crisis management to me. It seemed I was the unlucky one too endure to many problems there. There was just not enough positives going on to want to try again there, even that night. I have not been there since. I told the manage problems 40% of the time was not a good record to me. It too bad that had the sign, and a responsive manager, but it is a little like running over a dog: it is hard to bring it back to life once the mistake has been made.
I like others, have a tendency to not bring these type of issues up but it seem like I may have not been the only one to have a problem there. Every one does deserve the opportunity to make a misstake (sp) but only so many times.

 

Been there a few times. Like the bar, beer is fine. No problems with the staff. I don't think the food is very good. Parking can be a problem for a car/pickup.

 

I wanted to bring some friends to Flip Flops but they were closed at midnight on a Saturday night. It's really hard for a bar to sell drinks and make money when they are closed, interesting business model though. I will try to go there again but I don't go out drinking so often so it might be awhile.

 

General Statement: What is not understood here by most business operationers is the foreigner mentality of customer loyal and brand build up. Part of that loyalty by the foreigner crowd is that we are minorities here, and like to go to places we feel comfortable with, not changing the establishments we purchase more times than we change our underwear. If they can over charge you for one drink and put an extra 10 P in their pocket, it does not matter to them if they never see you again. Remember it is only what they can do to get that next meal here, not what they should do to insure a a healthy business that provides a long time livelihood here for them..

 

Not impressed. Was there one night when they had a "so called" band. The volume was so high my friends and I were forced to leave. Speaking to the owner about this was useless. On two other occasions I ordered food. Both times the food was terrible. I was not impressed with their chicken wings that tasted like old grease. Even the French Fries tasted like crap. And then the pizza. I am not a fan of hard crust pizza and asked them if they could make it so the crust was not hard. They assured me they could do this. They lied. They make their pizza like Garcia's, crust is hard and dry like biscuit. I won't go there again!
