There is some very good fishing here if one knows where and when to look and has a boat. Look at the fish in the local fish markets. The tuna, marlin, dorado, and other game fish are not imported! If one is serious about finding some good places to fish and wants to go fishing with the best in the area I suggest sending a PM to Mike Alano. He is serious about fishing and knows where to fish here - from inland lakes and ponds to ocean fishing all over the Philippines he definitely has it wired and has the pics and videos to prove it. His fishing thread: http://www.dumagueteinfo.com/board/general-chat/dumaguete-angler-8495.html He is currently fishing in Thailand:
When we go after blue crabs in tidewater Virginia we tend to just wade out in the water with a piece of chicken on a string and a dip net. Its not uncommon to come home with a bucket full of them. Just pull the chicken in slowly and the crab will stick with it, then use the dip net to net them from behind.
sandy try next to bings bazaar in front of public markets, we boughtnsome light line there, and im told there is heavier there as well.... dont tell me you have found somewhere to wet a line?......
thanks for that, actually not found a fishing place..........smile.....a different purpose....getting some bamboo furniture made and thinking of wrapping fishing line around the joints for extra strength as well as adding stainless screws
