I'm quite sure that your joy won't last for long. It's not just the support that is lacking. You've got me interested, what businesses are you referring to?
My bad, I've misinterpreted your reply earlier. You've been talking about commercial businesses providing the private sector. Nevermind. I'm lack of concentration. Murphy's law. Aside from that I was thinking of the strategical placement of network cells, overall physical network capacity, technical operations management, business decisions as well overall internet uplink capacity of the PI. It all sums up to Daily business I guess.
Yes! a Business that needed a Sharp kick up the Arse and that is exactly what they got from me. I had them by the balls and I will not let go. Liers I can not abide and when they are caught with their trousers down, we just have to aim one straight there JP
OK So having this new System up and Running, we now find out After the event that it is Capped at 1 Gig per day. So then it returns to 1 mbs from 3 mbs, not a disaster as it is still a better option for the same price. Just need to get timings sorted for the Area usage But and there is always a but The Modem which I think I said before is a duel Fixed and WiFi combined because it is on 24/7 as my daughter does a lot of stuff when teenagers do, I leave it on all night. Whilst it is not a problem, it does get hot as one would expect, I can Turn it off for a while when meals are on and when she goes out and I can nip for a beer or two, Thing is, it needs resetting every now and then I wonder if this is the norm on these things. So a Question, Ooops 2 sorry, 1. Does anyone else use this ULTERAPLAN from PLDT? 2. If so, do you need to do a reset every now and then? JP
I'm not expert but I would think that the regular heating up and cooling down would put far more stress on the internal components than just staying at a constant warm temperature. I would look for a labeled safe operating temperature and see if it is within tolerance. I believe that silicon damage starts at 135C (you are in trouble if anything gets NEAR this temp) and I believe that chip designers test operation at around 100-110C. Obviously cooler is better but I don't think that you would expect to see problems at around 70-90C operating temperature.
Yes I can see that now you mention it. Thank you for your Input. We Learn every day and if we don't ask we will never know JP
--> Certainly better than anything Globe and Smart (I know they are part of PLDT) offer ... Anything is better than these WiFi plans (IMHO). --> This is the DSL plan I intend to switch to when the house is built. --> Which raises the question of - it is available in Junob - anybody using it in Cadawinonan? PLDT in Dumaguete weren't very informative - were steering me towards Smart WiFi (try and figure) :-). --> Like to suggest a fan maybe. Switching off / on is not a very good idea for components. Keep them nice and toasty and running.
Smart is a subsidiary of PLDT. I would was trying to figure out more on PLDT in Dumaguete but they have a GEO block on their website for Afghanistan.....and not interested enough to turn the proxy on.
