Dave, I am of the understanding you could not get Philhealth for yourself, as a foreigner. You have to be married to a filipina, if I am correct.

I have heard of a few foreigners signing for philhealth recently, they were not married either, I think it was in Cebu though.
They were not asked abouts being married or residency issues.

I did have a foreigner friend who had signed up under a promo here with Phil Health. I do not know the specifics, it was about a year ago, and Phil Health was having membership push. He only stays here 6 months out of the year.
I will post the results of my effort, successes and failures here.

Just signed up for the wife and I today - 600 per quarter... I couldnt get an understandable answer on whether or not it covers basic checkups or like if my wife feels sick or not on an outpatient basis..

I went to this Moron office 3 years ago, and i lost my temper, i think it was their first time to see a filipina screamed at them(it jolted intensity 3 :hurting::hurting::hurting:!! In valencia, my helper pay 900 pesos last year, the driver and his mother are free Philhealth.

I am also looking at signing up soon with PhilHealth. I cannot access my email at this time to try and do a copy and paste of their reply to me but I thought it was a bargain cover for my Wife, Daughter and I per year... Hard to imagine how they do not operate at a loss for what they charge? o.O

They cover only a couple outpatient events but often if you can get it taken care of in the ER it may be covered. Phil Health only covers you in approved hospitals, which in NegOr means hospitals within Dgte City. The Blue Cross coverage from the office just to the west of SUMC is a little more expensive but may be the only insurance company other than PhilHealth that covers you after 65yo. (It's not the same Blue Cross as in USA)

I think each PH policy gives you 45 days of in patient coverage a year. It does cover kidney dialysis for 45 visits btw. They have all new Braun machines and are adding a room with 20 chairs to replace the current 6 chair facility.

For p2400 it pretty much can't be beat. They told me me that blood work would be covered for example.

Today I received a BENEFIT PAYMENT NOTICE from Philhealth Pasig City, the amount total reimbursed is 7,500 pesos but on my hospital bill receipts Philhealth paid 5,250.00.

There’s about 2,250 pesos gone missing somewhere…anyone have the same issue?

I noticed, At the lower bottom page there’s a reminder to bring supported documents to the Philhealth office for further verifications. I will keep posted here about the update.

About my SSS sickness claim, I found thru online the amount that they will pay is only 1,575 pesos out of my total paid contributions: 29,108.40. Dumaguete office told me to follow up the claims on 24 April but to call them first because processing would take2-3months. Let’s see how long this 1,575 pesos sleeps somewhere due to "out of stock Sir":banghead:

I’m not sure if my helper was right, because she wanted to take her monthly 495pesos sss contribution to buy rice rather than to pay it to SSS. Last week she was very upset because the staff in Dumaguete near Hypermart asked her some stupid questions and they did not take her ID photo because of last year’s October hard copy receipts gone missing. She told them very politely, that she is fully paid advance until June2015 and please check it on your computer, all I need is my ID and I already have an SSS number and paid. She came home very upset...:devilish::devilish::devilish:

I think the guy in charge was in the bad mood and did not realize the effort of my menopause helper. It’s really full of fun in Philippines!:cigar::cigar::cigar:
