Indeed. In .PH if your vehicle does not produce a sufficient amount of smog to choke people from 100m away - you will be considered 'environmentally conscious' and be forced to purchase Carbon Credits.

They can do a smoke test on me when I smoke my cigars.

 

FG did you know, that Dumaguete is a no Smoking City, whilst it is still not enforced in all, if any of late, the Public areas assigned to the Ordinance your wish may be granted and who knows, they may have introduced the Human emission test before you arrive.

Smoke test is what they do from your urine sample when you renew your license ;-)

 

UPDATE: Went to the emissions place opposite Cangs Supermarket. Met Ernie. Great guy. Basically handed him the keys and walked off to grab a coffee! Returned 20 mins later - all done, with receipts from LTO. Just have to return to him tomorrow to collect the papers. Doesn't get any easier than this. Recommended and well done to SP for the "Top Tip". Perfect.

 

The kind of service you are talking about is being offered by all or most of the smoke test stations against a "small" fee. The company where I renew my TPL is doing the same and the amount I pay for the insurance is much more competitive than the one offered by the smoke test station. But most important, you have a happy feeling and content about the service that was given.

 

Understood. As a newbie in DC I can only go by any info/tips provided on Forums such as this, and assume members will have some local insight etc.
