At 8mths old my boy is some way off yet - but I have been wondering what other parents do about having correctly sized shoes for their little ones? In the UK there are companies such as 'Start Rite' where you can have their feet measured for correct length/width etc. Now; I do not wish to appear too anally retentive about this - but having noticed many Asian's (mainly in provinces) with sprawled-out toes from living in flip-flops etc, it is something that as a responsible parent concerns me. What do other DI members with children do? Are there any such shops maybe in Cebu or Manila perhaps? Or is it a case of accepting this sort of thing is simply not on anyone's agenda? I am a first-time father, so I simply don't know if this is an important issue - or am I being paranoid? (Apologies if I am!)
Their feet are actually what human feet should look like. Ours are the ones that are deformed from wearing shoes our entire lives. If I had kids I wouldn't even waste the money on constantly buying shoes. Barefoot and sandals would be perfectly fine for my kids.
I 'hear you'. I'm certainly not one for buying expensive items that he would grow out of in 5 minutes. I was thinking more about well fitting school shoes (when he's at the right age for them) etc etc etc... Hey Wrye - just because your feet look like starfish - don't think we're all into that 'look'!!
