Police are investigating the death of a 74-year-old British national who was found dead and naked in his rented house in Barangay Canitoan in Cagayan de Oro City on Tuesday.

While no sign of external injury was initially found in Christopher King's body, police are still not discounting foul play behind his death, GMA Northern Mindanao's Kaye Mercado reported Wednesday.

"Walang nakitang visible injury o signs of struggle sa loob pero kailangang maimbestigahan ng husto baka merong foul play," said Bulua police station investigator SPO3 Dominador Datahan.

An initial investigation showed King was last seen alive Thursday last week with a person with whom he was believed to have a relationship.

He reportedly lived alone at his rented house but would get visits from the person.

Police estimated he may have been dead for at least five days when his body was discovered Tuesday.

King's remains will be subjected to an autopsy. Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News

Seems like the investigators have reason to be suspicious ?

Suspicious death can be the only first thought Roger as it was maybe 5 days ago, but at 74 there maybe many or certainly 1 reason for his death, I am sure that we will know soon enough, I am informed that the British Embassy Warden in CDO is a Good Man and I am sure he will not let this go to the bottom of the pile.

It is strange that they would call this death suspicious given the man's age. My guess is that some of his personal belongings were missing.

Can't talk for anywhere else other than the UK here but when a Body is found and no known illness was reported it is always listed as a Suspicious death until a Postmortem ( Autopsy) is carried out and the nature of death is known.

Apparently he had been sick over the last few months, I think his brother also lives nearby.

:pompus: Some brother? if that was the case. Criskey, if my brother lived nearby and I knew he was not well, at 74 I think I know I would have been in daily just to be sure 5 days dead?
I wonder just how long he had not seen or spoke to this unfortunate man.
Some days I can lose all faith.
I had not been on line for 5 days and You guys were asking about me. Do You know how reassuring that is my friends

As with others condolences to his friends and family
