Update: Sadly, a foreigner here has died today. A marshal here is now dealing with the deceased's embassy.

You are talking about Bart, he unfortunately took his own life yesterday. Very sad as he was a decent, nice man..... Condolences to the family.

Indeed. I was very saddened to hear of this. I wish we could of prevented it. He was a good guy and able to think outside the box. Quite rare these days.
    I will miss our chats.

Unfortunately Bart left many debts and Ritchel (his wife) is finding it very difficult indeed to come up with the money for the funeral.
There will be a very simple viewing at the Garden of Saint's funeral home in West Rovira Drive tomorrow (Thursday the 23rd of April, 2015) from around noon for about 24 hours.
    (Garden of Saints - About - Google+

This will be followed by a cremation the following day.

If Bart owed you money, please give Ritchel some time before asking about it. She's hoping to rush sell a lot to pay off the funeral, bank loans, mortgages, rent arrears and personal debts.
Also please don't ask her to relive this horrific event by asking about how it happened, ask someone else.
Any donations at the viewing will of course be greatly appreciated.

If Bart owed you money then bad luck. It's not Ritchel's debt. So forget about it. You made the decision to lend him money and took that risk. Condolences to Ritchel and Bart's family back in NZ.

I hope she manages to give Bart a good send off. Its a shame I cannot be there. I hope to be back December so maybe Barts friends can meet at Cocos for a few drinks and
even do a song on stage on Friday night in his memory. He always enjoyed those nights.

Let's keep this thread free from debate. This is not the place to talk about unpaid debts the spouse might or might not be responsible for. Condolences Bart's family.
