Here is a good subject for debate...........it is in the same realm as humans causing climate change...... I have for years wondered about all the oil and gas drilling and other mining around the globe, as to how much if any, all of that affects the equilibrium of life on Earth. Who knows ? Maybe it does ? and maybe it does not ? check this out, and I am sure this Forum will have all the answers..............lol.............:- Scientists convinced of quake, drill link - Yahoo7
Ironically, I recently heard someone comment on the reason California does not have adequate reservoirs (and subsequently in the midst of the worst drought on record) is because that building them will exacerbate the fault network and cause earthquakes. I would like to see some of the studies mentioned in the article you provided and of course follow the money. To me it sounds like more scare mongering with quack science to further political agenda, ideology, and the flow of money. Another load of crap!
as we know many think with their mouths or the keyboard which ever is handiest If what we read is right, no one is going to drill too deep are they then we have the thing, So, We need to ask Which, came first the Oil Well or Earthquakes and their Repercussions. Just saying and JMHO JP
Any reason why a water pipeline could not be connected between California and the Hoover Dam ? As long as there is enough water of course ? It seems no problem to build an oil pipeline North to South across the continent ?
I don't have the answer to that. I do know that California has not added many (or none) reservoirs in decades (I believe since 1974) largely for environmental reasons. Approx 70% of California's rain water runs into the sea. Likely the environmentalists would hamper a pipeline project as well and the prevailing government in California for decades now has tended to appease them.
