I would also be glad to do something like that. I really need to get out more and meet people. but I tried a few times and didn't like the way (as some say) that some foreigners act with their drinking and being loud and obnoxious.

Yes - a reasonable amount of alcohol tends to act as a 'social lubricant'.
Somewhere like La Fiesta or Gerry on The Beach would probably work well.

I read good comments on this forum about Jerry's On The Beach. If you are interested in meeting other expats you might consider attending the Outlaws MC Dumaguete Annual July 4th and Canada Day BBQ at Jerry's On The beach. The event starts at 16:00 hours (4pm).

You can buy tickets at the door. Cost is P500 for adults, P250 for children 6-12, and free for kids under 6. I have not previously been to an Outlaw MC event, but I bought advance tickets to check it out.

The international Outlaws have some bad press, but my new friend -- an affable Brit in his 60s who is a Dumaguete Chapter Outlaw Member -- assured me the local Outlaw chapter is clean and this is a family event. He said Dumaguete Outlaw members are a good bunch of guys (meaning they are not trouble makers).

There is also a mass motorbike ride preceding the BBQ. I tend to be an introvert so I have not yet decided whether or not to participate in the ride. I think the minimum requirement to participate in the ride is 250cc because of the 80km/hour planned constant speed.

I've rode with them a few times and that speed is a maximum speed, not an average. You could easily keep up with their rides on a 125cc bike. No where in the Negros can you average 80kph for very long.
