Health warnings have been issued as Britain is braced for weather hotter than the Sahara Desert on Wednesday.

Public Health England is advising people stay out of direct sunlight between 11am and 3pm on what is also expected to be the hottest July 1 since records began 165 years ago.

Sweltering conditions led train companies to cancel services today as Network Rail warned tracks could buckle in the heat.

Courtside temperatures could feel up to 55C at Wimbledon which could have its first match suspended due to heat in its 138 year history.

Heatwave warnings as Britain will be hotter than the SAHARA this week - Mirror Online

Brits ain't used to that sort of heat as doesn't happen very often, most days in the summer it's around 23-24 deg on a good day and pretty cool at night.

That's true, plus it's stuffy (humid) bit like Philippines, but no air-con.
