Belgium national arrested in bohol

The long arms of the country’s premier investigative agency caught up with a Belgian national suspected of engaging in the trafficking of children, child abuse and child pornography in a northern town of Bohol.

NBI Director Atty. Virgilio Mendez, a Boholano ordered surveillance operations and arrest the Belgian suspect after human trafficking reports reached the NBI.

You know scared the press or an individual are of getting prosecuted here JP, I think the word alleged is only used to cover their arses!
And like you say the press reports are totally crap here.

 

Alleged is the right word to use. Nothing has been proven yet in the courts. The police only investigate and arrest, the courts decide if he is guilty or not. It is not the media's job to convict people of crimes.

Get a lawyer and STFU before you say something else stupid! Just because your pictures are "private" doesn't mean that it isn't illegal. And just because you don't smoke meth doesn't mean you weren't using it as a tool get the young girls into your house.

It seems the moral of the story is "stop being an *sshole in the Philippines". And FFS, stop being around minors that are not related to you regardless of your intentions! How many f'in people have to be arrested before expats figure this sh*t out? (And btw: never let someone borrow or use your computer without your supervision!)

The truth is somewhere between his story and the story the community is telling.

 

This ain't the place anymore to mess with underage girls or meth, you're going to get nicked at some point, some guys really need to learn the rules of the ph! Play by their rules or get knicked and end up in a shithole for a few years!

But the media probably isn't given those pictures because of an ongoing investigation or because it is entered as evidence for the trial (nor should they be given it). Going through the courts in the Philippines would be a nightmare.....going to trial through the Philippine media would be even worse. Just look at how the article is written, it's very obvious they have already deemed him guilty and have went around digging up as much sh*t as they could on him. Let this guy have his day in court, not a public execution by the media who are just trying to sell papers.
