This morning we were sitting at Sans Rivel waiting to go up to pay out smart a man came along and tried to go up the escalator when he was told ( not yet sir )this was at 5 mimutes to 10am
he started abusing every one in sight even the girls that run the smalls stands around that area.
So its no wonder the locals are sick and tied of expats bad behavior this guy most likely had nothing to do for the rest of the day anyhow, he kept it up untill 10 05 am the laugh was on him he was going to globe and was at the wrong escalator and 6 people beat him to the globe counter were he started swearing again . sad part he had an Aussie accent

I marked it funny only because he missed the queue but of course the issue is not funny at all.
There will come a time when I feels sure one of us or maybe more will be done for assault on these types. Many times in LP and other places where my patience is tried to the very Limits.

The Philippines can be very frustrating at times to say the least but you have to remember that they have their ways and nothing you say or do is going to change that. Best thing to do when you feel the urge to slap someone (and we have all felt that way at some point) is to talk slowly, smile and work with them if they don't know how to help you. Nothing good can come from being confrontational or making them feel ashamed...doing that really only assures your day will be much more difficult. I really wonder what these assholes are thinking they are going to achieve when they act like that. (Even in our home countries those attitudes won't get you far.)

One thing I actually like about the Philippine culture is that if you are kind most people will go out of their way to help you. Some people really need to learn how to make this part of the culture work for them.

You think these people have to deal with assholes? Their family working the phones at the call centers have to deal with way worse. Or how about the domestic helpers working abroad? Or nurses? I think the Philippines must be world experts at dealing with assholes. That's why so many flock here. *sshole paradise.

OP, yes, I too have witnessed some 'way over the top' rudeness from some foreigners as well.

One example; A few weeks ago...guy (I think Aussie, not sure) was yelling at a mild-mannered girl behind the McDo's counter. Her crime; having to tell the rude customer; "Sir, no ice cream today."
It got bad enough, the manager had to intervene to diffuse the situation. Then he left in a huff, not ordering anything.
I told the girl; "I'm embarrassed for his bad behavior. I know it's difficult to have to work AND deal with childish behavior from adults."
She managed a smile. But I could tell she was still feeling wounded.

Brings back great memories....NOT ! I worked in a call center long ago, before most of the centers got shipped overseas. That was a tuff job. You could not put them 'in their place' for being d##kheads either. It would only get you fired.

I don't know where this comes from. It is completely unacceptable in our home countries to act like that and you most certainly will get kicked out of any business for acting like that in the US (and I suspect the same is true in Australia and most European countries). Where I come from it is not uncommon for businesses to have a "wall of shame" where names and pictures of people who act like fools/assholes get the honor of being placed. Only some serious @ss kissing to the business owner will get your name taken off that list.

Cant stand rude people, and today I had a bloody foreigner push in front of me at Lee Plaza at the checkout, but I kept my cool
and gave the creep a little smile. then kicked him in the shin (accidentally of course) after he had been served, and he was so rude to the checkout chick also, that I could not help myself, but he went to water when I asked him if he had any objections to my little tap on his shin. Bullies are no longer bullies if you stand up to them.
Bloody foreigners are getting out of control in this country. hahahahaha
