This Kind of news really makes me sad, and puts me off from coming to the Philippines, But it wont. It makes me blood boil some thieves decide to rob and kill their victims.

Happens too often in my book, What can we do to prevent this, we aren't allowed guns to defend yourself. alarms, security lights, dogs, cameras.

It is something to be aware of but I think it is important to understand that these types of things happen all over the world. The Philippines can be as safe (as far as crime goes) as any other country for tourists. You just need to make sure to stay aware of your surroundings, don't make yourself a target and be careful who you surround yourself with. This goes pretty much everywhere in the world. It is sad that these things happen but poverty and poor education are everywhere and makes people desperate and causes them to do stupid sh*t.

@jimeve I thought you were already living in the Philippines.

Cebu - A mother and her 11 year old daughter who were missing since last Saturday, been found dead yesterday in the septic tank at their home in Tungkil, Minglanilla.

Virginia Sharpe (37) and her daughter Ellah Meca, were killed by the construction workers who worked on their new home in the Deca Homes, and buried in the septic tank.

Neighbors informed the police yesterday morning because the mother did not respond to texts and the 11-year Meca no longer seemed to go to school.

The police found in the house a newly cemented bottom portion, near the kitchen, and swarms of flies in the toilet. After the police broke up the new cement, they found the remains of the missing mother and her daughter.

The police believe that the two were killed on Friday afternoon since Meca Ella was still wearing her school uniform. The chief of the Minglanilla Police Senior Inspector Richard Gadingan says the three suspects, all hired by the murdered mother, were arrested a few hours later.

Gadingan identified the suspects as Manuel Labrador (34), George Baquiran (47) and Estelito Ricamora (53). The mobile Sharpe was in Labrador and the Tablet PC's daughter was found in the house of Ricamora.

Gadingan says, Labrador and Ricamora accuse each being the murderer, while Baquiran says that he was not involved in the murder. The murdered Virginia Sharpe was married since 2004 with an Englishman who is professionally active in London and had adopted her daughter. EPD 08/21/2015 - 5:00

CAVITE - Two South Korean nationals were found dead inside their home south of Manila, the Philippine police authorities said on Thursday.

A statement issued by the Silang Municipal Police department said that Song Yi Kim and Shangson Na, an elderly couple in their 60s, living at the rural town of Silang, about 53 kilometers south of the Philippine capital, were found dead inside their home on Thursday.

Police were still investigating the cause of their death.

Village chief Benigno Cortes said a worker employed by the Korean couple informed them that there was no answer from the house when he called in for work and they had to step in.

"I was with two village police and we kept ringing the doorbell, but there was no answer. We made a way to get inside, so with the help of our village police, they climbed over the gate and when they got inside, they peered into the window and saw the couple dead," he said.

Cortes said there were other South Korean nationals who are living in the town, but the couple were the only ones living farther away from the town center.

The Korean nationals' house was situated in a remote area about 60 meters from the nearest neighbors.

Resident Efren Mabilangan who has known the couple since they resided in the village two years ago, said there were no other people living inside the house except the couple, but there were workers helping them out.

"We regularly speak to the couple and they seemed to be okay and without any problems, but last night we heard what happened from a worker who was knocking on the gate," he said.

Mabilangan said the couple were also planning to open a charity center inside their gated home.

The South Korean Embassy in Manila declined to comment on the incident.

Seems like there is a run on workers killing their employers at the moment!
