Last year we purchased a automatic scooter for the mrs in March, we managed to get the papers in around 3 months and also got a temp plate number.
Well yesterday went to get a smoke test done and lo and behold the temp registration does not exist on the lto website.
So who's fault is this, the lto or the motorcycle dealers, I will say we have chased up the dealer on several ocassions for the new plates and to get it sorted but as we all know the usual answer is sorry sir no plates yet! Anyway after 3 calls to the dealer yesterday I eventually got a call back this morning to say they will look into why it's not registered on the lto website and will call back later. Mind you this was after I mentioned the dti and the general manager of the brand of motorcycle!
No doubt this is not going to be solved overnight but we shall see.

A lot of People ( from the Capitol House to the Local Police and some local Big Names did not like the one time Head of LTO Roland Ramos. He had, as any other head of Agencies, His own Agenda but think back a few years. We seemed to get less of the bad paper work in his time. OH! Don't get me wrong, I have more than most, a reason not to particularly Like him or trust him But his Paperwork was always in Order, this is how they can get away with many things.
Until the Electorate Demand something be done Stupidity on this level will prevail.
In many countries we have a scenario of Vote of NO Confidence. Somewhere in the PI Constitution I feel there will be such.

I will say when Ramos was here a lot more got done, I don't think he was well liked as you mentioned though.
I think the current problems are more nationwide though, this licence plate and plastic licence cards thing is one big scam. Seems like no one knows how to solve it either.
Whilst out and about you do see the new plates with different regions though, I noticed one with Region 12 a couple days ago where ever that might be!

Hmmmmmmmmm I was going to be silly and try and make a joke but something went wrong, not to worry I deleted it so no harm, However the Question got to me so I looked it up, it appears to be a fairly new region as Part of the Re organisation of Mindanao and of course we all know why this was Don't we?

    [IMG] So there you go!
