    :thumbsup: Guys & Gals, Recently I had need to go to our BI office on an unrelated issue but was asked to talk to our Friendly ACO ( Alien Control Officer) He asked if I would put a notice out on the Forum ( He is a Follower of DI but not a member) to remind or inform members, Until Sept 30th the Programme is Voluntary but From October the 1st it will become Mandatory with Fines for non- compliance
    So if you want to avoid the $ 50 input for the new card and escape the Fines, now is the time to Go and Register
    This is for 9a Visa holders who have or intend to stay over 6 months in the Philippines.

    It is Simple, I Form to Fill, 1 2x2 Photo on a White Background, take Passport ( make sure it is all up to date)
    get Electronic Photo and Fingerprinting done ( This is done at the BI Office.)
    You get your ARP Certificate stapled into you Passport with your own unique number and the card will Follow as per later only expedience, As I said do it before Sept 30th and it is Free, After it is $50. I am not sure when the Fines will start but we all know it will be ASAP

    What is the ARP;
    **All foreign nationals in the Philippines will have until next year to appear before the Bureau of Immigration to have their biometric data recorded and to be issued a Special Security Registration Number.

    According to BI Commissioner Siegfred Mison, the move is part of the bureau's Alien Registration Project to update its database and to give foreigners better assistance on visa-related problems, **

    How many "original copies" (oxymoron) will I need to take with me?
    Sure it is. :rolleyes: I'm sure it has nothing to do with the $50 fee they will be collecting from all the tourists. :greedy:

    You don't need any copies of anything just the Photo and Passport and fill the Form in, they will help as there can be confusion over Kids and Parents names but as you don't have Kids easy peasy for you. it is that simple :wink:

    :cautious: No copies needed and they are doing it for free for a month? I'm sorry but I can't believe that this is coming from a Philippine government agency. What are you trying to pull here? :wink:

    Not all foreigners are required to go through the ARP filing. Some visa types are exempt including mine. The data you fill out is redundant to certain visa data.
    There was another thread covering this about a year ago.

    Pat is quite right, and Thank You Pat for the Input to start the Clarification:thumbsup:. It is for 9a Holders only who have been here 6 months and intend to Stay It is a one off that puts everyone in the same Frame as all 13's, Students, Work Permit Holders and Retirement visa's Holders. Registration. This should then put a stop to the continual BI Bitching about they Don't know who is here. and maybe we will see less of the pervs putting their heads up
    As Pat said, a lot of the information is Redundant but Forms are Forms EH?

    @Wrye83
    Just to reiterate what I said on the I card. No payment for the ARP ( Except fines where due) but your card has to be in Force. This is not a payment for the ARP but a Requirement of the 9 a Visa after 59 days. Then after 6 months it is Mandatory ARP and an ECC to Leave. ( although it sounds as if it(ARP) may be mandatory after 59 Days)
    Hope this clears this up.
    Maybe Dustin, this will be a good time to Merge the two Threads:thumbsup:
