Is it possible to get a Senior Citizen Card with your ACR-I Card? I went to get a Senior's card and was told that I must have a Philippine Passport. I was told that the ACR-I card was not sufficient.
You need to be a Filipino citizen to get this card whatever anyone tells you! There are a few that have them I know of but highly illegal.
If you are a Foreigner you can't. Sorry but It is illegal for a Foreigner to obtain, apply and importantly try and use a Filipino Senior Citizen Card. If you are offered one or lay your hands on one it will be Hooky, Penalties are quite Severe. If you are a National, you can apply on your NSO Birth certificate. JP
Who needs a card? McDonalds usually gives me the senior price without asking. At Robinsons the cashier chases the younger locals out of line to service me first. Like Saint Reagan said to Walter Mondale they're probably just considering your youth <grin>
Perhaps the employees/managers are ignorant on the law....that doesn't justify you taking advantage of that ignorance. Just to make this perfectly clear: Republic Act No. 9994 First: Which you are not.....: You are not a Filipino citizen and by you taking these benefits you are taking away from those that need it most. Let's not encourage others do engage in illegal behavior.
Also, my bank told me to use their 'Senior Citizen' lane. And the BI allows me to send a helper to file the annual report. Truth is, business and government can extend whatver courtesies they choose to their clients, which has no connection with 'Senior Citizen Cards."
