In san francisco, they cook it like that but the pulled part is using forks and pulling the meat in strips off the cooked piece!! Then the sauces added!!

The best sandwich I have tasted, was at pall's shanty in portland oregon!! They make a ham sandwich that is 6 inches high and the meat is 5 1/2 of those inches! Cheddar cheese and onions, tomatoes, dejon sourdough bread!! $ 1.50!!! To be truthful though; there are great sandwiches all over the world!! It depends on where you are from as to your likes and dislikes!! Different foods for different regions!! Bon-appetite!! Taco tiyo on the main hiway south! Next to bob's liquors, makes a real good soft taco! And a bigger one also! They are californian taco's!! P40 & 60 & 100 also!!!

That sounds nice. Do you have a name or location in Bacong? I've driven through a few times and never noticed it.

    TIA

I was stationed at Fort George G. Meade in the 80's and there was this legend of a sandwich shop. Don't know when it opened but the building was ancient. I don't have any pictures or menus but ate there many times and to quote one of my favorite food guys on TV oh my goodness oh my goodness those sandwiches were fantastic and so large even though i am a big guy i got at least 2 or 3 meals out of them. Wow hadn't thought of that name in a long time. I am sure most people on here don't recognize the name at all, but i remember it was next to a train track and you definitely knew when the train came through cause the old building used to shudder. Great sandwiches though, it was awesome! Very fond memories. Thanks PatO for starting the thread

Sam's a little hole in the wall place on Victory Blvd in North Hollywood run by Armenian guys had great spicy pastrami. They made an excellent pizza and their patty melt wasn't bad either.

Tommy's hamburger stand in Van Nuys Ca, had a great chili cheeseburger, no place to sit and eat, no napkins, garden hose around the side of the building served to get rid of the evidence. People came from all around at midnight when they craved a good burger. It was rumored that actors had been discovered there.

Luigi's Italian restaurant Van Nuys Ca, extremely good Italian food, impeccable service. The first time I ate at Luigi's I was 18 and there were two other people at the table and I let out a mini burp which nobody seemed to have heard so I also said excuse me under my breath which nobody at the table heard and yet this attractive woman server twice my age was there like a shot from across the restaurant asking if there were anything she could do for me? I said, Marry me? Of course a wedding band would have probably affected her hearing.

If you can't find Miracle Whip, then you'll find that Magic Whirl is the same thing. I have purchased it at Hypermart and Robinsons. Lee Plaza/Super Lee will likely also have it.
