Found that I have a flat tire. A two, inch nail sticking out of the side of my rear tire. “Because. you don't give money to this boys “ (the ones showing up by the time you leave) says my wife. A few months ago someone tried to open the rear door of the car and broke the inside mechanism. I'm wondering or anyone else had this kind of experience?
Not recently but a couple of years ago we had some problems along these lines at SUMC it came to a head when the attendants sorted it out among themselves and one was Shot. It is always just better to pay these guys or have some problems, to me 10 peso is better than the Cost of new tyre or parts to a car. Of course it is not right but look on it as Insurance. If they know there is a couple of Peso at the end they will keep an eye on things. JMHO JP
Sorry to say, but this is just protection money. I will not use them as they are parasites. One was going to key my wife's car until someone she knows saw what was about to happen and threatened to shoot him. We all do what we think is best for ourselves and I don't judge anyone else's choices.
I never pay. I seriously don't want them to be in my way when I back out, or put dirty cardboard on my bike seat, or moving my bike once I parked. But, those who pay do as they leave. How will they be able to vandalise the car once you are gone? They can't memorise all bikes and cars in Dumaguete to vandalise next time you come. Unless it's a place you go on a daily basis.
lol That's mafia style "insurance". I usually give 5 peso to the motorcycle "parking assistants". I do make them work for it by parking in front of a space (whether it is occupied or not) making them move the bike into a spot. On my sports bike I don't do this, I tell them if they want to get paid it better be in the exact same place I left it. I have yet to have any problems with them.
There lays the problem, many of us do, maybe not daily but regularly, you would be surprised at the memory of some of these guys but... each to our own. JP
It's a little easier to remember who didn't pay when the person has a long nose and a light complexion (and I have a bunch of numbers tattooed down my leg that makes me easier than most to spot....which is why I always pay).
Spend a day at the cockpit or get on a Ceres buss and you will see how good their memory is, or your wife\Gf remembers the girl you smiled at many months/years ago. because of bad eyes I sold my bike, but before I would always give the guy standing in the hot sun P10. every one of them recognized me on approach and greeted me with a big smile. No way in hell would I ever want their job.......
totally unintentional.....it has been corrected..n thx 4 bringing it to my attention as i intended to hit the "like" button
