:stop: You know, I know that these Hackers are clever in some way but I have to wonder in this day and age how some people (and it sounds a lot here) are just careless about securing their personal Details when it comes to Banking issues.
I am no techie but how safe is our information? Is buying on line Suspect in some circumstances? Can we do any more than be vigilant to erase this or make it a d*mn sight Harder for them? Is the PI a Risk Area for ATM Fraud? ( as the Bad Guy suggested) so many questions so early but..............

In the U.S. you're not liable for fraudulent charges made on your credit card.

Credit & Debit Card Security | Card Safety | MasterCard Enhanced Card Protection

Debit cards don't have the same protection. However, there are a lot of options for "reloadable" debit cards. Put X budget on the thing and use it only for that purpose. Load it when needed. If it gets hit with a fraudulent charge, then you are only out whatever you had on it. If it's the equivalent of a couple days running around town, then it wouldn't be too bad.

There are a bunch of options for reloadable cards around Dumaguete.

This depends on the bank. I had a debit card stolen and 2k+USD taken out of my account. My bank put it all back in my account minus $50.

Trying to use Filipino Pride to his advantage. Hopefully the courts won't give a sh*t who the victims were and will dish out the appropriate prison sentence.
